TOPIC: BREAD OF DECEIT
Key scripture for Today
Proverbs 20:17-18 (KJV)
17Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.

Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. I saw it coming a long time now but I prayed for it not to come. I prayed for the entire gamut of evidences to turn out to be untrue, I prayed for God to prove all his accusers to be liars, I trusted that God will vindicate him and that, like Tiger Woods, he will not start losing all those juicy sponsors and contracts with Nike, Oakley etc. I even prayed that even if the allegations were true, God will yet find a way to forgive him and cause this nightmare to be over in a flash and that it will just die a natural death like some things do. He has become one of my greatest icons of Hope, Survival and Determination. I have used him to inspire people at Conferences, Seminars, Retreats and Trainings. His rise to Iconic Legendary has been for decades one of my best Case Studies for as long as I can remember. And his drive to raise over $500 million for the treatment of cancer patients in the United States has remained one of my best examples of Giving Back to Society after you have been blessed. But alas, after all the fame, after the glitter and glamour of stardom and legendary, Lance Armstrong has been stripped of all seven Tour De France titles, stripped of all medals, stripped of all honor, banned for life from the sport of cycling and may be asked to return back all Gifts and money given to him as a result of those titles. He has lost his place as the President of Livestrong Foundation and dashed the hopes of millions like me who drew so much strength from his very inspiring story. Don't get me wrong, I love Lance right or wrong. I can't even begin to start unloving him now. If I were in the US I will find a way to reach out to him and encourage him at this time just as he has inspired me literally throughout my life.
After months of testing, The UCI accepted the findings of the United States Anti-Doping Agency which found Armstrong guilty of masterminding sport’s most elaborate doping conspiracy. Lance Armstrong’s name will be totally erased from the history of the cycling sport.
But the question is "was it worth all the shame, the humiliation, the opprobrium and the disgrace. Was it worth the pain it has caused him, his family and millions of fans all over the world? Was it worth loosing at old age what you have invested your entire lifetime to build? Was it worth the embarrassment his kids will face at school, the shame the wife and relations will face at work or the stigma and despise the once respected name will now carry for many generations to come ? Abraham Lincoln said "You can fool some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time"

Thomas Brooks said "Satan is a terrible taskmaster. Here’s a helpful quotation which summarizes his deceit: ‘He promises the best, but pays with the worst; he promises honour and pays with disgrace; he promises pleasure and pays with pain; he promises profit and pays with loss; he promises life and pays with death’. Temptations are certain to ring your doorbell; but it’s your own fault if you ask them to stay for dinner!’ Perhaps the biggest temptation of my friend and mentor was a desire to become a Star at all cost. It's a temptation that is common but before you embark on that journey remember our text: Proverbs 20:17 "Stolen bread tastes sweet, but soon your mouth is full of gravel". Or "Food gained dishonestly tastes sweet to a person, but afterwards his mouth will be filled with gravel." J.C. Watts said "Character is doing the right thing when nobody's looking. There are too many people who think that the only thing that's right is to get by, and the only thing that's wrong is to get caught. “And Thomas Paine concluded "Character is much easier kept than recovered."
Let us pray
Father, grant me the grace to rise only by integrity in Jesus name.

TOPIC: POWER UNDER CONTROL
Key scripture for Today
James 1:19
“Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.”

If I were to ask you, what is the most powerful thing in this world ? Your answer may be, Animals like the elephants or whale. They’re truly powerful. Outside the animal kingdom, you may say the most powerful thing in the world are space

shuttle engines, that enable the shuttle to break free from gravity and soar into space, or maybe nuclear tipped missiles that can be shot and then controlled by a joystick hundreds of miles away, with amazing accuracy! Maybe Missiles or bombs that can destroy cities, or lay waste to entire countries. Or could it be an illness, a disease that can ravage the body and destroy human lives, like cancer? What if the most powerful thing in the world is YOUR TONGUE ? When Dr. Martin Luther King said, “I have a dream.” His words brought hope to hundreds of thousands of people, across all sorts of cultural, and ethnic barriers. His words revealed his vision and transplanted it in the hearts of others, transforming their thinking, changing their perspectives. JFK said “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Those words impacted hundreds of thousands of citizens to move from consumers to contributors. They inspired others to volunteer and work on behalf of others for the betterment of the country. Nothing that powerful should be without control, little wonder James instructed in our key scripture “Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.”

We must learn and allow the Holy Spirit help us control our words, Proverbs 17:28 tells us that “Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue”. Let me share some truths on bringing your tongue under control.
1. CONFESS – Quit making excuses for your tongue, and confess your negative speech as the sin it is. Until you admit you’re sinning, you’ll never have victory. Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy”
2. PRAY – Second, get help where help is available. Ask for God’s help. James 4:2 …you have not, because you ask not. James says the reason we don’t have control, the reason we don’t have the things we desire is because we don’t ask God for them. If you want victory over your tongue, pray about it and ask for God’s help.
3. SPEND TIME WITH GOD - Matthew 15:18 “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man”. Vocabulary is not hereditary it is born out of relationship. The language you speak is indicative of the company around, if your words must change you must spend time with God in the study of His words until they become your language.1st Corinthians 15:33 says “Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."

Beloved, your words can ravage an entire community and most definitely set you free or endanger you. Let me close with the story of a state trooper who pulled a man over for speeding on a deserted road. Since the road was clear and the weather fine, the trooper thought not to give the man a ticket, and let them off with a warning. He even complimented both the man and his wife for wearing their seat belts. At that point the woman leaned over and said, "Well, officer, when you drive the speeds we do, you have to wear them." That’s when the trooper wrote the ticket and arrested both of them. Remember “Power is Nothing without Control” (anonymous).
Let us pray
Father, grant me the power to keep my words under control in Jesus name. Amen.

The bigger, better, stronger you!

"Taking a look at herself, she thought to herself "this is all I can be". She feels the only strength she has is the all acclaimed 'bottom power'. Afterall, that was all her mother had and definitely used to achieve all she has today. So she strongly trusts in it to take her to the status she always dreamed of having. Yet, deep inside of her, is a cry for freedom. She feels totally bound by something bigger than her. In her head is that voice that says "prostitution is all you can be", but in her heart is a rebelling voice that screams "NO!" How can she reconcile her heart to her head? They are sending her two different messages. In her quiet time, she drowns the heart voice with tears and alchohol. She is constantly getting frustrated by the fight going on within her. But the moment she sets out for her 'night' duties, the heart voice flees. Because she at that point just can't heeed to it anymore. After her duties as she gets back, she goes through the same cycle of fight. The head and the heart tearing her apart with contradictory voices. Who can save her from this...
The truth however is what the heart is telling her: "You are better and stronger than you know. This might be the only way you know to take care of yourself, but that is ALL you know. What about the one you DON'T know? That you made in the image and llikeness of God. That in you lies a solution being awaited by the entire world. That nations are waiting to rebuild your walls? That there's a bigger, better and stronger you that you are yet to discover?" That is the voice that should win the fight. Let it do so and be set free!

And it continues...

I have thought of turning the whole world to words,
But I find out they cannot express the depth of what you mean to me,
I have thought of causing the whole world to be a song, so I can sing it to you, Still, it cannot be enough.
You make me fly without wings,
To float on the clouds of impossibilities. Sometimes, I so lost for words of how to describe you,
That I can only say
"OH GOD!"
You beat my imaginations!
The way you draw close to those that draw close to you, but remains a mystery to those that do not know you, amazes me.
"I dey Trip for you!"
Not even any language can fully describe you.
I have thought of learning new languages,
Just to say more words to you,
But they are far from being enough.
You are my pride,
And your sweet presence energizes me.
"I love you"
And my prayer is;
I do not want this to end Holy spirit.

A lil' something for you...my love story

My Love Story
I was fully grown,
fully grown, but naked,
Left in the field to die of cold and emptiness.
Then I heard someone approaching.
I was afraid and ashamed of my nakedness, so I ran to hide.
You did not pass me, no you did not.
You stopped and came to my hiding place. Your eyes were ablaze with love and just one look at your so-perfect face,
I melted before you. You lifted me on my feet and took me in your arms.
You were all-perfect and shone as the sun, so I begged you to depart from me because I do not deserve your presence.
But you said to me "I came just for you"
At the sound of your voice I held you more closely
Because I felt peace like never before.
You took me and covered me with a purple robe and gave ornaments for my hair, hands and feet. You then put me on your horse and rode with me.
Everyone that saw me were amazed.
They said "what is she doing with him? A peasant like her!"
But you gave no heed to them.
You took me and gave me a place of rest where I abide till now.
Every day I wake up,
I still feel you by my side.
Those eyes of love that pierced through my fears and deepest secret,
Those eyes, I still feel constantly gazing down at me.
I hurt you, yea sometimes,
But you still take me back always because you know that what we share is deeper than human understanding.
For setting my hinds feet on high places, For loving me when I'm loveless,
For giving your life for me,
I say "THANK YOU".
As your love rises with the sun each morning,
I say to you, my love and the wind beneath my wings;
Make me yours, forever...

Ladies, sex isn't Love! You can't give him your body just to make him love you.

The issue of love has been one of the most perverted topic ever. People each day fall prey to different unimaginable situations in the quest to find love and be loved (who doesn't want that?). However, in all of these, in between is another issue that has also been so abused-sex. Now, sex is a beautiful thing, matter of fact one of the most beautiful and amazing things in life, but not when it is being perverted.
Love and sex therefore can sometimes be misunderstood. "I love you" and "I want to have sex with you" becomes a sentence that most people can't properly define which they want. Is it "I want to have sex with you because I love you" or "I love you because I want sex????"
Unfortunately most times, in the middle of this dilemma is the woman. It is said that the woman gives sex to be loved while the man wants sex to love. That seems to be true, but imagine if that is the case. Will the woman go around giving sex in her quest for love to every dick and harry she meets? Absolutely No. However, most women have found themselves in that situation. Sometimes, unable to help it. It is to such ladies I tell this: He is not going to love you because you give him sex if he doesn't find you lovable in the first place. Sex won't change a thing!!!(Even if you are wonderful in bed). It will simply satisfy his libido(don't mistake it for love) and give him the boosted ego of another prey conquered, while you leave heart broken and empty handed when he's satified with the menu you are serving him and wishes to try another menu! Hey! don't give him that space! And if you are a guy reading this, I understand how much you are built to destroy everything on your way, but brother, give 'em sisters a chance! Let your heart think first before that consuming lust sets in. If you know you have no plans for her, I mean long term plans, like marrying her (is that so impossible?) then let her be!
Like I said, the sweetest sex (love-making) is in the marriage environment(don't abuse me). I'm married and so I truly know. So can't you wait?
So girly, the next time he's putting that pressure on you to "give it to me if you love me" be wise. Think about what you can loose should he dump you. Most ladies are shattered and heart-wrecked only when a man they have been in a SEXUAL relationship leaves them. Meaning sex binds, so imagine if you have had sex with 5,10,20 guys? You are bound to them. What a circle!
You can break it. Simply put, girls shut your legs and guys, shield your stuff. Let us practice abstinence(Isn't it part of HIV prevention?)
Seriously, it's about time people experience love in it's PURE state.

You cannot? You CAN!

Impossibilities are limitations our mind try to place on us to stop us from becoming ALL we made to be. The people that have ever succeeded in this life first succeeded in removing the word 'impossible' from their mind. You too can achieve and be ALL you are made to be if you can rise above the FEAR of what you CANNOT do in to the FAITH of what you CAN do. Welcome to your greatness!
